Recypark Humanité

Recypark Humanité (Forest): opening hours, address and accepted waste

Recypark Humanité is the Bruxelles-Propreté recycling park at Boulevard de l'Humanité 350 in Forest, open to residents of the Brussels Region and of Drogenbos. It is the only Recypark that takes a vehicle over 1.85 m high towing a trailer, which makes it the default choice for vans and double-axle trailers. If you were going to hire a van to empty a whole flat, our crew can clear it in one visit instead.

Where is Recypark Humanité?

Recypark Humanité is at Boulevard de l'Humanité 350, 1190 Forest, at the junction with Boulevard de la Deuxième Armée Britannique. In Dutch the street is Humaniteitslaan and the site is called Recypark Humaniteit.

Recypark Sud sits at the same crossroads, so Forest has two Recyparks a stone's throw apart. They are separate sites with separate entrances and slightly different rules, explained below.

Bulky Waste Brussels is a private service with no link to Bruxelles-Propreté. What follows is based on the agency's official Recypark information (opens in a new tab), read on 2 October 2026.

Recypark Humanité opening hours

Recypark Humanité is open seven days a week on the standard Recypark timetable shown in the hours panel. Weekday mornings start at 09:00, while Sunday and Monday only begin at 14:00.

The long days are Monday to Wednesday and Sunday, until 20:15; from Thursday to Saturday the last cars leave by 16:15. On crowded days new arrivals are stopped half an hour before closing.

Vans, trailers and tall vehicles at Recypark Humanité

Recypark Humanité is the one Recypark that accepts every vehicle combination allowed in the network: a car with a trailer, a vehicle over 1.85 m, and a vehicle over 1.85 m pulling a trailer. Bruxelles-Propreté also names it as the preferred site for anyone with a double-axle trailer.

The 3.5 tonne gross weight limit still applies, so a large rental truck is out. A hired high-roof van under 3.5 t is the typical vehicle here, although no rule specific to rental vans is published.

  • Over 1.85 m and towing a trailer: Humanité is your only Recypark.
  • Double-axle trailer: Humanité is preferred over Recypark Demets in Anderlecht.
  • Professionals with a trailer or a vehicle over 1.85 m: the professional rules send them to Humanité.

Who may use Recypark Humanité: Brussels and Drogenbos residents

Recypark Humanité admits anyone domiciled in the Brussels-Capital Region and, unusually, residents of Drogenbos. Bring your identity card or proof of domicile and a bank card, because cash is not taken.

For Drogenbos residents the choice between the two Forest sites depends on the vehicle. Sud is closed to them if their vehicle is over 1.85 m or tows a trailer, while Humanité takes those vehicles. Companies registered in Brussels are welcome too, at the professional rates.

What you can bring to Recypark Humanité

Recypark Humanité takes the regional list of sorted waste, up to 3 m³ a day without charge and with a flat €121 above that. You will find the full list, including the €3.03 building items and rubble bags, on our overview of what the Recypark accepts.

Two containers make Humanité more useful than some other sites. It has a flat glass fraction for window panes and mirrors, which must never go in a bottle bank, and a food waste fraction. Buda, by contrast, lists neither.

  • Flat glass: accepted here, as at Sud and Demets.
  • Food waste: accepted here, as at Sud, Demets and Auderghem.
  • Mattresses: accepted if completely dry; a torn, ruined one goes in the bulky waste container.

Asbestos near Recypark Humanité: the Renewi centre at no. 124

Recypark Humanité refuses asbestos, like every Recypark. Brussels Environment does, however, list an authorised asbestos collection centre on the same boulevard: Renewi Belgium, Boulevard de l'Humanité 124, 1190 Forest.

Renewi is a private company, so ask it about its conditions directly. Brussels Environment says small amounts of bonded asbestos may be removed by a private person, bagged in special bags and taken to an authorised centre. Larger amounts call for an approved collector. Read the Brussels Environment asbestos guidance (opens in a new tab) before you touch it.

Quietest days at Recypark Humanité

Bruxelles-Propreté names Tuesday to Thursday as the quiet days at Recypark Humanité. Friday, Saturday and the Sunday and Monday afternoons are therefore the busy stretches.

If the queue at Humanité looks long and your vehicle is under 1.85 m with no trailer, Recypark Sud across the junction is an alternative on the same trip.

Recypark Humanité closures

Recypark Humanité closes on New Year's Day, the third Sunday of September, All Saints' Day (1 November), Armistice Day (11 November) and Christmas Day. On Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve it closes at 18:00, brought forward to 15:00 when either date is a Thursday, Friday or Saturday. Most other public holidays are normal opening days.

Skip the trip to Recypark Humanité: we collect from your home

Hiring a high-roof van and a trailer to empty a flat at the end of a lease means a rental, a parking space at home and several runs to Forest, each loaded and unloaded by hand. We take that whole job instead: a two-person crew arrives with a box truck, carries the contents of your flat or house out and drives them away in one visit.

The price is agreed from your photos before we come, so a long staircase or a heavy chest freezer never adds anything on the day. Small clearances start from €250 and a studio or small flat usually costs €250–900. See our bulky waste collection prices for larger homes, flat clearance when you move out of Brussels for the end-of-lease case, and the steps of a collection for how booking works. For drivers with an ordinary car, Recypark Demets in Anderlecht and Sud across the junction remain the alternatives to Humanité.

Recypark Humanité: frequently asked questions

Can I go to Recypark Humanité with a van and a trailer?

Yes. Humanité is the only Recypark that accepts a vehicle over 1.85 m high towing a trailer, as long as the vehicle stays under 3.5 tonnes gross weight.

Can Drogenbos residents use Recypark Humanité?

Yes. Residents of Drogenbos may use Recypark Humanité with their identity card, including with a trailer or a vehicle over 1.85 m. At Recypark Sud they are accepted by car only.

Is Recypark Humanité the same as Recypark Sud?

No. They are two separate Recyparks at the same junction in Forest. Humanité takes trailers and tall vehicles, while Sud sends them elsewhere.

Can I bring a broken window to Recypark Humanité?

Yes, flat glass has its own container at Humanité. A whole window frame counts as a paid item at €3.03 per piece.

Should I hire a van for Recypark Humanité or have my bulky waste collected?

A van trip costs the rental, the fuel and a day of lifting, plus €121 if the load goes over 3 m³. For a cellar, an attic or a whole flat, a clearance from us has one price fixed from photos, from €250, with all the carrying included. For a few pieces that fit in one load, the van is usually the better deal.
