What the price of a clearance in Brussels includes

The price of a clearance in Brussels includes everything needed to get the contents out of the property and dealt with properly. Doing it yourself at a Recypark in Brussels takes a vehicle under 3.5 t, an identity card and a bank card, and you load and unload everything.

  • The crew: two people who do all the lifting.
  • Carrying out of your home: from the cellar to the attic, with the floor and lift access for large pieces judged from your photos.
  • The truck and transport: a box truck parked as close to your door as the street allows.
  • Sorting, disposal and recycling fees: furniture, appliances, wood, metal, cardboard and textiles go to the right streams at no extra cost.

What makes a clearance in Brussels cost more or less

Volume is the biggest factor in the price of a clearance in Brussels, followed by access, the state of the property, the share of reusable items and the day you choose.

  • Volume: how much space everything takes in the truck.
  • Upper floors: a fourth floor up a narrow Saint-Gilles staircase takes more effort than a ground-floor flat or a building with a large lift, and a big piece up there may need a lift.
  • Parking distance: in a tight street in the Marolles or behind a courtyard, the crew may have to carry everything further to reach the truck.
  • State of the property: a tidy flat is quicker to clear than a cellar of damp boxes.
  • Reusable items: a good dining table or a working washing machine can go to reuse, which costs less to handle than material that has to be processed.
  • Weekend or urgent jobs: a Saturday slot or a job squeezed into the same week costs more.
  • Weekdays: a weekday clearance booked with a little notice is the cheaper option.

How the fixed price from photos works

Your price is fixed from photos before anything is cleared, and that is the amount you pay. There is no hourly rate, so a slow staircase or a wardrobe that has to be taken apart is our concern, not an extra on your bill.

To get the price, send photos of each space to clear and your commune through one of the ways to reach us, including email; you get one fixed figure, in English.

What to show in your photos for an accurate price

Clear photos give a price that holds. Photograph each room from the doorway, open the cellar and attic and show them too, and mention anything unusually heavy, such as a chest freezer or a piano. Tell us the floor, whether there is a lift and where a truck can stop.

Worked examples of clearance prices in Brussels

These examples show how the bands apply to Brussels jobs.

A cellar clearance in a Schaerbeek townhouse

A cellar with an old bike, broken chairs, a dead chest freezer, metal shelving and twenty years of boxes is a small clearance, usually €250–600. Where it lands depends on how full the cellar is and how steep and narrow the steps are. The freezer goes to electrical recycling as part of the price. Our page on garage, attic and cellar clearance in Brussels covers these jobs in detail.

An end-of-lease two-bedroom flat in Etterbeek

A two-bedroom flat with beds, wardrobes, a sofa, a dining set, a washing machine and the kitchen contents falls in the apartment band of €800–1,550. A flat with a lift and easy parking sits lower in that band than the same contents on a fourth floor reached only by stairs. Our page on flat clearance when moving out of Brussels covers the end-of-lease side.

A family house in Uccle

A four-bedroom house in Uccle with a full cellar, an attic and a garage is a large family house, usually €1,500–2,500. A house that has been lived in for decades and is packed to the ceilings can move into the €2,500–5,000+ band. When the house is cleared after a death or a move into care, our page on estate clearance in Brussels explains how we handle it.

How to keep the cost of your clearance down

The cheapest clearance is one well-prepared weekday job.

  • Put everything into one clearance. One visit for the flat, the cellar and the storage box costs less than separate visits.
  • Decide what you keep first. Mark or move what stays, so the photos show only what goes.
  • Flatten boxes and bag small items. Loose clutter takes far more truck space than the same things packed.
  • Choose a weekday. Weekend and urgent slots cost more.

House clearance and office clearance prices in Brussels

A full house clearance in Brussels costs €800–1,550 for an apartment or terraced house and €1,500–2,500 for a large family house, with very large or long-neglected homes from €2,500 to €5,000+. Our page on house clearance in Brussels explains what a whole-home job includes.

Offices and commercial spaces are always quoted from photos, because a few desks and a full floor of furniture and IT are very different jobs. See office clearance in Brussels for how we plan those around your working hours.

What a clearance price does not cover

Our prices cover household and office contents, not building waste, garden waste or hazardous material. We don't take garden or green waste, rubble, plasterboard or tiles from a renovation, asbestos, chemicals, paint in quantity, solvents, fuels, gas bottles, large volumes of tyres or clinical waste. Leaving any of these in the street is no solution either: our page on illegal dumping fines in Brussels explains what that can cost.

Frequently asked questions

Do you collect a single sofa or a few items?

No, not on their own. We focus on clearances: a room's worth or more, cellars, attics, garages, whole flats and houses. A single sofa or a few pieces can be added to a larger clearance, and then they are simply part of that price.

What is the minimum price for a clearance?

Our prices start at €250, for a small clearance such as a cellar, an attic, a garage or the contents of one room. Where a job lands between €250 and €600 depends on volume and access.

Do you charge by the hour?

No. Every job has one fixed price agreed from your photos before we come. If the stairs are slower or a wardrobe is harder to move than expected, the price stays the same.

Do you charge extra for stairs?

Stairs are included in the fixed price, not added on the day. An upper floor, especially where large pieces may need a lift, does make a clearance cost more than the same contents from a ground floor, which is why we ask about the floor and the lift.

Can I get a price without a visit?

Yes. We price every job from photos, so nobody has to come round first. Tell us your commune, the floor and whether there is a lift, and you get one fixed price in reply.
