How it works

How our bulky waste collection works: from photos to an empty home

Our bulky waste collection works in five steps: you send photos, you get a fixed price, we agree a time, a two-person crew carries everything out of your home, and what we collect is sorted for reuse and recycling. It is built for clearances in Brussels: a room's worth or more, a cellar, an attic, a garage, a whole flat or house, an estate or an office. We work in all 19 communes of the Brussels-Capital Region, in English.

How bulky waste collection in Brussels works, step by step

Booking a bulky waste collection in Brussels takes five steps, and all you need is a phone with a camera. You never have to explain anything in French or Dutch.

  • Send photos. Photograph each room or space that needs clearing and tell us your commune, the floor and whether there is a lift, using the WhatsApp button on this page.
  • Get a fixed price. You receive one price for the whole job before anything is collected. It is not an hourly rate.
  • Agree a time. We fix a day and time with you for the crew to come.
  • The crew carries everything out. Two people arrive with a box truck, carry the contents out of your home and load them. You don't lift anything.
  • Sorted for reuse and recycling. What we collect is split into reuse, electrical recycling, wood, metal, cardboard and textiles.

Who carries the bulky waste out of your home

The two-person crew does all the carrying, whether the job is a flat in Saint-Gilles or a cellar in a house in Uccle. On upper floors, the stairs and whether a large piece needs a lift are judged from your photos and priced in. You don't have to bring anything down to the pavement or wait outside with it. Someone just needs to open the door and show the crew what goes and what stays.

What our bulky waste collection in Brussels clears

We clear the large and awkward contents of a home or office, a room's worth or more at a time, up to a whole house. A typical clearance mixes all of these:

  • Furniture: sofas, armchairs, beds, wardrobes, tables, desks, cabinets and bookcases.
  • Mattresses: single and double mattresses and box springs.
  • Appliances and electronics: fridges, freezers, washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, TVs and computers.
  • Household contents: boxes, clothes, toys, kitchenware, books and bikes.
  • Office furniture and IT: desks, office chairs, filing cabinets and computer equipment.

Clearance services in Brussels

Each type of clearance has its own page. A whole home is a house clearance in Brussels; a cellar, loft or lock-up is a garage, attic or cellar clearance; a home emptied after a death or a move into care is an estate clearance in Brussels; and a business space is an office clearance.

What our bulky waste collection does not take

We don't take garden or green waste such as branches, cuttings and soil, and we don't take construction and renovation debris such as rubble, plasterboard and tiles. Asbestos, hazardous chemicals, paint in quantity, solvents, fuels, gas bottles, large volumes of tyres and clinical waste are also excluded. If you are unsure about something, include it in your photos and we will tell you before the price is fixed.

Bulky waste collection in all 19 Brussels communes

We collect bulky waste in all 19 communes of the Brussels-Capital Region: Anderlecht, Auderghem, Berchem-Sainte-Agathe, the City of Brussels (including Laeken, Neder-Over-Heembeek and Haren), Etterbeek, Evere, Forest, Ganshoren, Ixelles, Jette, Koekelberg, Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, Saint-Gilles, Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, Schaerbeek, Uccle, Watermael-Boitsfort, Woluwe-Saint-Lambert and Woluwe-Saint-Pierre.

Parking and access differ a lot between a narrow street near the Grand-Place and a wide avenue in Woluwe, so tell us where a truck can stop when you send the photos. Our page on bulky waste collection in each Brussels commune has the local details.

Bulky waste collection prices in Brussels

Our prices start at €250: a small clearance of a garage, attic, cellar or one room usually costs €250–600. A studio or small flat runs €250–900, a full apartment or terraced house €800–1,550 and a large family house €1,500–2,500.

The price includes the crew, the carrying out of your home, the truck and transport, and sorting and disposal or recycling fees. Volume moves it most, followed by access and the state of the property, and weekday jobs cost less than weekend or urgent ones. Our clearance and bulky waste price list has every band and worked examples.

Why use a clearance service in Brussels

A clearance service makes sense when emptying a flat, a cellar or a house yourself means renting a van for several days, hauling furniture down four flights and losing weekends. Many Brussels flats are up narrow staircases with a small lift or none at all, and many residents don't own a car at all.

  • No car or van: a flat's worth of wardrobes, beds and boxes means many van trips, and none of it fits on a tram. Vans over 1.85 m high can only unload at Humanité or the canal-side Recypark Demets in Anderlecht, which shuts at 13:45 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
  • Narrow stairwells: carrying a chest freezer or a solid oak table down a Brussels stairwell is heavy, slow work that goes better with two people.
  • No time: you send photos in a few minutes and the crew does the rest while you work, pack or hand over keys.
  • Heavy or awkward items: washing machines, box springs and corner sofas need two people and the right grip.
  • Sorting done for you: you don't have to split wood, metal, electrical items and textiles yourself.

What happens to the bulky waste we collect in Brussels

Everything we collect is sorted so that as little as possible ends up as residual waste. Usable furniture goes to reuse organisations and appliances go to registered electrical (WEEE) recycling. Wood, metal, cardboard and textiles each go to their own recycling stream. Nothing is dumped illegally.

How to prepare for your clearance

A little preparation keeps the job simple. Decide what stays, then put it in a separate room or mark it clearly. Empty and defrost a fridge or freezer the day before, and take out papers, keys and valuables you want to keep. If you are moving out at the same time, our page on clearing a flat when moving out of Brussels covers the end-of-lease side.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to bring my items down to the pavement?

No. The two-person crew carries everything out of your home and loads it into the box truck. You only need to show them what goes.

How do I get a price for a clearance in Brussels?

Send photos of each room or space with your commune, the floor and whether there is a lift. You get one fixed price for the job before anything is collected, and that is the price you pay.

What is the smallest job you take in Brussels?

A small clearance: a cellar, an attic, a garage or the contents of one room, usually priced at €250–600. Single items on their own fall below that, but they can be added to a larger clearance.

Do you take garden waste, building rubble or paint?

No. Garden and green waste, renovation debris such as rubble, plasterboard and tiles, asbestos, chemicals, paint in quantity, solvents, fuels and gas bottles are outside what we collect.

Which Brussels communes do you cover?

All 19 communes of the Brussels-Capital Region, from Anderlecht and Forest to Schaerbeek, Uccle and the two Woluwes.
