Where is Recypark Buda?
Recypark Buda stands at Avenue Antoon Van Oss 6 in Neder-Over-Heembeek (postcode 1120), close to the Buda bridge. Neder-Over-Heembeek belongs to the City of Brussels, so although the address reads "1120 Bruxelles", the site is well north of the city centre.
It is the only one of the six Recyparks in the north of the Region; the other open-to-all sites are in Anderlecht and Forest. Every person domiciled in the Brussels-Capital Region may use it, whatever their commune, and professionals with a Brussels registered office are accepted too.
This page is written by Bulky Waste Brussels, a private collection company, not by Bruxelles-Propreté. The rules come from the agency's official Recypark page (opens in a new tab), last checked on 2 October 2026.
Recypark Buda opening hours
Recypark Buda follows the standard Recypark timetable shown above: open every day, from 14:00 on Sunday and Monday and from 09:00 on the other days. The late closing at 20:15 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday means you can drop off a wardrobe after work.
From Thursday to Saturday it closes at 16:15. When the queue is long, the gate shuts to new arrivals 30 minutes before closing time, so arriving at 19:50 on a Tuesday is a gamble.
Vehicle, trailer and height rules at Recypark Buda
Recypark Buda does not take city cars towing a trailer or vehicles taller than 1.85 m; Bruxelles-Propreté directs both to Recypark Demets or Recypark Humanité. If your vehicle is over 1.85 m and also pulls a trailer, Humanité is the only option.
All other vehicles must stay under 3.5 tonnes gross weight. No specific rule for rental vans is published, so a hired van is fine as long as it respects the weight and height limits. Before booking a high-roof van for a Buda trip, check its height in the rental papers.
- Car or small van under 1.85 m, no trailer: Recypark Buda is fine.
- City car with a trailer, or a vehicle over 1.85 m: go to Recypark Demets on the Anderlecht canal quay or Humanité.
- Over 1.85 m and towing a trailer: only Recypark Humanité in Forest.
What you can bring to Recypark Buda
Recypark Buda accepts the same sorted streams as the regional network, from mattresses and fridges to rubble bags and paint, within the 3 m³ daily allowance. The full list, with the €3.03 items and the €121 fee above 3 m³, is on our page about what you can bring to a Recypark.
A few details are specific to Buda. Its site plan shows an asbestos container marked "coming soon", but asbestos is still refused at every Recypark, so do not bring it. Flat glass and food waste are listed for other sites (Sud, Humanité and Demets for flat glass), not for Buda, so take a broken window pane or a glass table top elsewhere.
- Mattresses: accepted in their own container if completely dry.
- Clothes and shoes: the textile bank takes them in bags of max 60 L.
- Large appliances: fridges and freezers must arrive empty.
When Recypark Buda is quietest
Bruxelles-Propreté lists Tuesday to Friday as the quiet days at Recypark Buda, plus Sunday or Monday after 16:00. That leaves Saturday and the early part of Sunday and Monday afternoon as the times to avoid.
The Sunday and Monday tip is useful: both days open at 14:00, so the first two hours absorb the rush and the site calms down for the final four hours before 20:15.
Recypark Buda closures and recent news
Recypark Buda is closed on 1 January, the third Sunday of September, 1 November, 11 November and 25 December. On 24 and 31 December it shuts at 18:00, or at 15:00 if the date is a Thursday, Friday or Saturday.
Other holidays normally bring regular hours. Strikes are the exception: on 25 August 2026 Buda was one of two Recyparks that stayed closed because of a strike, so it is worth checking the Bruxelles-Propreté news page before a long drive north.
Skip the trip to Recypark Buda: we collect from your home
Recypark Buda suits a car boot of cardboard, but a full cellar in Laeken or Neder-Over-Heembeek can mean five or six drives north, each one loaded and unloaded by hand. We clear it in one visit instead: a two-person crew comes with a box truck, carries everything out of your home and takes it away, with the transport and disposal fees included.
You send photos of what has to go, and the price is fixed before the day, never by the hour. Small clearances start from €250, and our page on bulky waste collection prices in Brussels gives the indications for each size of job. Our cellar, attic and garage clearance in Brussels covers the most common case, and how a collection works, step by step explains the rest. If you would still rather drive, Recypark Sud in Forest and Recypark Demets are the other sites open to every Brussels resident.
Recypark Buda: frequently asked questions
Is Recypark Buda open on Sunday?
Yes. Recypark Buda opens on Sunday from 14:00 to 20:15, unless Sunday falls on one of the closure days such as the third Sunday of September. Sunday after 16:00 is one of its quieter slots.
Can I take a trailer to Recypark Buda?
Not behind a city car, and not with any vehicle over 1.85 m high. Bruxelles-Propreté sends those to Recypark Demets or Recypark Humanité, and a tall vehicle with a trailer may only use Humanité.
Who can use Recypark Buda?
Anyone domiciled in the Brussels-Capital Region, with an identity card or proof of domicile. Professionals whose registered office is in the Brussels Region are accepted too, at the professional rates.
Does Recypark Buda accept asbestos?
No. An asbestos container appears as "coming soon" on the Buda site plan, but asbestos is still on the refused list. For small amounts, Brussels Environment (02/775.75.75) gives the official routes.
Can someone collect my bulky waste in Neder-Over-Heembeek?
Yes, as part of a clearance. We clear cellars, attics and whole homes in Neder-Over-Heembeek, Laeken and every other Brussels commune, carried out at a price agreed from photos beforehand. Small clearances start from €250.
